A GTM read on the role, an audit of your live ad account, and where I'd take a $20M+ global search program — from a performance marketing music producer's ear.
Consider this my demo tape.
Suno figures: public reporting, 2025–26. Ad counts from Google & Microsoft ad libraries and Apple's EU ad transparency, Sept 2026.
That overlap is the whole pitch. Suno's mission is "music for everyone" — so the person owning acquisition should actually understand both the auction and the art. That's a narrow slice of people. I'm in it.
A quick read on the board — the moment shapes the strategy.
No one owns the search results for "ai music" yet. So paid search here is about claiming that real estate and shaping demand — not just harvesting it. Move deliberately now and you set the default before it hardens.
No access — just the public ad libraries: ~2,000 Google creatives, 111 on Microsoft, plus 28 Apple Search Ads per EU market across 8+ countries. Seven things stood out.
Own your branded terms before a competitor does, then win the big category searches like "ai sample generator." The real unlock is upstream: every Suno song shared on social sends people to search for you — so I'd measure and feed that loop, not just buy clicks.
Every use case is its own search — "wedding song maker," "workout playlist," "podcast intro music." I'd build a system that spins up a tailored ad and landing page for each one, at scale, instead of hand-building them.
Go deep in the markets that actually pay, and localize to what people there listen to — reggaeton, Afrobeats, K-pop — not just translated ads. I've run this shape before: 6 ad accounts across three countries on one account.
Half the business is the app, so I'd treat app search ads as a real channel — bidding toward paying subscribers, not just installs — and fix the messy part: tracking people cleanly across web and app, with Data + Engineering.
Not every signup is worth the same — a US hip-hop user and a Brazilian lo-fi user convert differently — so I'd bid to real long-term value, not clicks, and prove it out with Finance instead of trusting one platform's numbers.
New ad products give an early edge that fades fast, so I'd get us into the betas first — Google's AI-driven search, app campaigns, whatever's next. I've already worked hands-on with the newest tools, so I'm not learning on your dime.
I understand stems, synthesis, and the DAW — so I can write ad copy musicians believe, and brief Creative in their actual language instead of guessing at it.
10+ years producing music — living in the DAW, digging through sample packs, chasing an idea before it evaporates. I know exactly why someone opens Suno at 2am, because I'm that person.
Grew 10+ major recording artists across IG / YouTube / Twitter (50M+ combined followers), analyzed 30+ campaigns, and vetted 20+ partnership deals. Audience growth from inside a major label — the world you're now licensing with.
Genuine connections across labels and artists — useful as Suno leans into licensed models and creator partnerships, and as paid search starts feeding those programs.
I led paid media execution for SongSplits — a SaaS for song credits and split agreements — through its equity crowdfunding raise on StartEngine ($15M valuation). Early-stage acquisition for a music-tech startup, built from the ground up.
"Music for everyone" is the mission. I can run the $20M search P&L and make the music. That combination doesn't come up often.
That's the pitch — no ten-page cover letter, just the read, the plan, and the receipts. If this is the kind of person you want owning the channel, I'd love to chat more.
